Sininen Talo
In the countryside, yet close by
At the southern end of the Lusi straight, right by the junction of national roads 4 and 5, stands Sininen Talo – the Blue House. Built in the mid-1800s, it was where the village children learned to read for more than a century. Today its halls are filled with celebrations, coffee and homemade treats.

Our story
From a tax registrar's home to village school and celebration venue
Sininen Talo has been a tax registrar's home, an elementary school, teachers' housing and the Satulinna kindergarten. Within its walls children have learned to read, school-kitchen potatoes have been peeled, opera roles rehearsed and kindergarten games played.
- Mid-1800sTax registrar E. A. Vinter builds the Rauhamäki estate.
- 1882The municipality buys the estate and it becomes the Lusi elementary school.
- 1966–1969Future opera singer Jorma Hynninen teaches at the school and lives in the teacher's flat.
- 2008The house becomes the Satulinna kindergarten.
- 2024The town sells the old school buildings, and Kaisa and René Kromhof buy Sininen Talo.
- 2026The restored house opens its doors as Sininen Talo.
